ABOUT
Rachel grew up in the California suburban melting pot known as Little Saigon. Known for layers of bold exotic flavors and Vietnamese culture, her neighborhood became a playground for Rachel to experiment and explore as a child. Naturally reserved, she became a vessel of all she observed.
Despite or perhaps because of her rich inner life, Rachel had difficulty in finding her voice. It was as if she was watching herself to speak up in the moment but by the time she returned to the present, the moment had passed. As such, she was labeled, “shy”. School was often less than fun for this reason; it was safer to hide in the back of the classroom.
After graduating with a Film & Media degree, she decided to shed her old skin and move to LA to pursue a career in film production. As a part of this desire to break old patterns, she enrolled in the Michael Chekov acting technique. The method of using the imagination to experience the truth of the moment looked like a means to judo her supposed weakness into a strength. Her instincts were right; her first class felt like the floodgates had finally opened! Emboldened by this discovery, she decided to make a career change to acting.
Rachel’s goal is to keep squeezing the fruits of her imagination into a potion that enables all who drink to see the magic of life. She hopes that her labor of love will inspire others to find their own voice and add their unique perspective to the tapestry of human experience.
In terms of type, Rachel can be seen as a smart, studious doctor or research student on the brink of something big. Think: a bilingual translator working for the government/CIA in the Sci-Fi genre.
When she is not acting, you can find her hiking, traveling the world, and eating the spiciest foods she can find. From climbing the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu to hiking 35 miles in 3 days to Havasupai falls, she has visited over 30 countries. Walk with her and you might just make a breakthrough of your own!
